Every story begins with curiosity. Sometimes I truly do not know that much about a topic or person, especially if it’s an assignment. But even if I do, I approach each new piece looking for something I did not know. Because in that process of discovery I mimic the reader’s journey. The challenge is to put the pieces back together when I know the end but I don’t want you to until you get there. Sometimes all the pieces fall perfectly into place; sometimes I have to make them fit. But I know it’s done when I’m ready to start over on something new.
